  • Margaux Viera of Riverside Thursday, April 12, 2012, holds up a daily journal and address book that belonged to Anita M. Baldwin, Viera's great-great-grandmother and the daughter of Arcadia founder Elias "Lucky" Baldwin. The personal items were among those found in a safe by Nevada farmer Dan Knight on his wife's family's property some 20 years ago. The repairs to the cross took 150 hours to repair after the Dec. 1, 2011 windstorm damage from a 70-foot tall tree that fell on the cross and crucifix Friday, April 6, 2012. San Gabriel Mission Pastor Fr. Foothill Extension-Pasadena to Azusa Light Rail Given Go-Ahead by Metro Gold Line Authority

  • The Kiewit Parsons Joint Venture for the $486 million Foothill Extension from Pasadena to Azusa light rail extension has been given the go-ahead by the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority Wednesday, April 4, 2012. The authority announced Wednesday it has issued Kiewit Parsons a full notice to proceed with the contract, including design and construction of the 11.5-miles of tracks, stations, crossings, bridges, utilities, maintenance facility and more. The total project budget is $735 million.
